MCG Construction was proud to take part in the latest BuildForce virtual career chat, with client Berkeley Group.
The session covered Site Management, Quantity Surveying, Technical and Brian McBrearty, MCG Construction’s Operations Director, was able to talk through typical on-site career opportunities within the construction supply chain.
BuildForce aids those leaving the military to transition into a rewarding career in construction. During lockdown the company started the virtual career chats to bring the industry closer to the participants, in the safety of their own home. During the sessions, BuildForce interviews Veterans now in industry doing a variety of roles, asking them to share information about their transition, training, career decisions and insightful information about their current career.
Each week, BuildForce invites along Recruitment Managers, Resource Managers or Line Managers, providing advice on networking; CV’s; job searches and interviews. The live audience joins for a Q&A session, where they provide guidance and advice to those building the foundations for their career in construction. You can watch MCG Construction’s session here.
Brian McBrearty said: “It was a great privilege to be asked to be involved in this webinar and help provide some further information and insight to those seeking a career within the construction sector. So many Veterans have a range of fantastic skills that are directly transferable into a construction setting, so it’s a great opportunity to be able to speak directly to them and discuss the range of prospects on offer.”
