The Construction Youth Trust arranged a career networking session online webinar where young up and comers in the construction industry could attend talks. Two promising young go-getters from MCG Construction volunteered to talk about their roles, how they have been integrated into their teams and what their daily work lives look like. We’d like to say a special thank you to Henrich Nagy and Tionne Harris for volunteering.
Henrich Nagy
Henrich started with us in 2021 and works as a Project Logistics Manager. In this role, Henrich manages all aspects of construction logistics at the Oval Village Project, London. Henrich communicates and co-ordinates with trade contractors and clients. Practical planning skills are required making sure projects are completed on time and run safely. Henrich talks about how he makes this all happen and the skills he has learned along the way.
We asked Henrich why he chose to go into construction. He told us: “I have always enjoyed being part of something unique, building something for future generations. I am very proud of the completed projects I had been involved with.”
We also wanted to know what he most liked about his role. “I like that I am able to work in a busy and interesting environment and meet with lots of different people.”
Tionne Harris
Tionne Harris is on an apprenticeship through MCG as a Site Administrator. In her role, Tionne undertakes the administration side of projects, organizing orders, compiling Friday packs and more. Using her Microsoft office expertise, she makes orders and compiles data for reports, an essential part of the construction industry that may not be commonly associated with that line of work. Tionne talks about why her role is important and how she helps projects develop.
We asked Tionne why she chose to go into construction. She told us: “Since I was young, I have always enjoyed watching how a building was built and the progress, I’ve now had the opportunity to make it my career and be part of it.”
We wanted to know what she most enjoyed about her role, her reply was: “I like that I am able to learn new things every day, while understanding how logistics work in construction.”
We are honoured to have two of our young up and comers talk about their devotion to their roles and represent MCG Construction and themselves.
