We are excited to introduce our new Managing Director, Mark Bull.
With a results-driven mindset and an inclusive, collaborative leadership style, Mark Bull joins us with a deep understanding of what it takes to build a successful business. He spent the majority of his career at Hill McGlynn, Randstad CP&E and Randstad UK leading the companies through strategic and operational change, resulting in notable financial success.
When asked what his greatest professional achievements have been to date, Mark shares “There has to be three that really stand out for me. The first being the exponential growth that we saw in Hill McGlynn’s infancy. We were doubling our figures every 18-months and it was something really special to be a part of.
“Secondly, weathering the credit crunch during my time at Hill McGlynn and being one of the only construction recruitment companies in the UK at that time that didn’t have to down scale the size and scope of business operations.
“Thirdly, the rebuild of the UK Randstad business as I restructured it into 5 grouped capability businesses with a supporting central service function.”
Working with an ambitious company to reach its full potential is something Mark has experience in and sees similarities with those and MCG Construction. With these lessons in mind, Mark’s future vision for MCG Construction is grounded in building on the company’s trades & labour offering, implementing a new client strategy, introducing more permanent recruitment and diversification.
Mark added “First are foremost we must get through the Covid era that we’re currently facing but we mustn’t let this stop us from building on MCG’s existing success and focus on delivery. It’s imperative to use this year to stabilise our foundations and embed the strategy to build towards a 5-year plan to ultimately see us as the UK’s leading construction recruitment solutions and construction logistics provider.”
The ambition of MCG Construction, as well as The MCG Group, attracted Mark to the Managing Director role. Mark said: “I was drawn to the people within the business as well as the undeniable ‘can do’ attitude that is evident across the Group. The desire of the business to become more and to be a part of its ambitious plans was a challenge I wanted to be a part of!”
Outside of the office, Mark enjoys cooking Asian food and spending time with his partner and two children.
Welcome to MCG Construction, Mark!
