How long have you been working in construction? I have been working in construction for 2 years now. This is my first role in construction as a Resourcer.
Have you noticed more women working within construction since you started? Lately yes, whereas before you may have seen only cleaning jobs for women in construction, now I see a much broader range of jobs becoming available for women like traffic marshals, fire marshals and supervisors for example.
Have you ever felt daunted by being in a male dominated industry? I have felt it was a challenge to work in a male dominated industry with a constant feeling that I must prove myself, however I learned that by being assertive and by trusting your own skills you can defeat preconceptions.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
My day-to-day tasks are liaising with Site Managers, dealing with timesheets, check sheets, sourcing and registering new candidates, booking them for induction etc. In the future I would like to step up to a more challenging role, what I like about my current role is that every day I get to interact with new people.
