Business Development Manager - Permanent - Up to £75k, dependent on experience - London

Business Development Manager. Our client, whom are an established Project Management service provider based in London with a strong history and background of delivering projects throughout the Middle East & Northern Africa, who are now expanding to the UK market and are therefore actively recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join their UK-based operation in this exciting new opportunity. Due to the circumstances this is a stand-alone opportunity, initially working in a remote capacity but with visits to site as required, reporting to a director who is responsible for the UK-based operations.

This exciting new opportunity would suit someone with previous Business Development experience, ideally working with large and multi-million pound projects, from either a Main/Principal Contractor or Project Management basis.

To be considered for the Business Development Manager role you must:

  • Have proven experience in a similar business development role
  • Profile, interpret and agree customer requirements
  • Be motivated and ambitious and be able to work in a team or under your own initiative.
  • Be established and well linked within the construction industry
  • Be able to control numerous projects at any one time.
  • Have proven ability generating new business in a competitive market
  • Demonstrate ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Be confident in conducting site visits and gathering project information for correct pricing of works
  • Be able to read technical specifications and drawings and extract relevant information to prepare quotations/tenders

Key Responsibilities

  • Building and developing our client base further by client mapping companies and up and coming projects across multi sectors across the Construction market
  • Ensuring that the Company policies and procedures for the business are followed.
  • Maintaining a high and constant level of communication with potential clients
  • Assisting in reviewing jobs to strengthen the bid process.
  • Networking calls to senior clients to arrange presentations of the services we offer
  • Arranging meetings with key account clients, new and existing, with a view to increasing the number of tenders we receive to build our business and present project management solutions to their businesses
  • Evaluating Supplier/ Subcontractor quotations and ensure compliance with the tender documentation.
  • Reviewing lost tenders to see why, how and where improvements can be made.
  • Ensuring information used for tender is current and provides the best competitive advantage.
  • Meeting and liaising regularly with the Head of Department for reviews and updates.
