MCG Construction has a new opportunity for a Logistics Stock Controller for a major contract in Watlington, Oxfordshire.
What will I be doing?
As Stock Controller you will be responsible for ensuring that the stock levels meet business needs. You will oversee purchases and pricing reports, replenishing levels when necessary, and monitor shipments or internal transfers between departments within one business enterprise.
Key responsibilities;
Perform/oversee all inventory audits.
Data analysis of supply chain.
Monitor and maintain current inventory levels.
Processes purchasing orders.
Track orders and investigate problems.
Record purchases.
Maintains product serial number database.
Performs and reconciles actual stock count to system-generated reports.
Raw materials, Unfinished goods, Finished goods, Consumables stock integrity control
Resource logistical processes (quarantine, disposal, damaged stock, etc)
Controls FIFO (first in, first out) integrity.
Reducing costs by maintaining stock levels and space usage.
Control and update internal databases.
Track shipment delays.
Oversee the storage of products, particularly of short life.
Liaise with warehouse staff and other internal teams to check products' quality (status upon delivery and storage conditions).
Keep updated inventory records (including daily shipments).
Ensure purchases do not exceed the budget.
Coordinate stock control operations with warehouse staff, as well as finance departments.
Provide reports for supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock
Placing and receiving orders to replenish stocks as needed.
Track shipments and coordinate internal stock transfers, as well as resolve delays.
Oversee stock storage processes, including tagging, boxing, and labeling.
Maintain a steady flow of stock from storage to where it is needed.
Maintain and update daily shipment inbound/outbound records.
Cover for Warehouse Administration for absence and holidays.
Do I have what it takes?
Must-haves;
Previous experience within an administrative role, preferably within a manufacturing/logistics industry.
GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English (minimum 4/5)
In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and workload management.
Ability to perform well under pressure
Familiarity with inventory management systems.
Ability to work well with suppliers, customers, and other team members.
Active listening skills.
Strong verbal and written communication.
Previous experience coordinating with Suppliers and Customers, both internal and external.
Ability to work to defined working standards and instructions.
A methodical approach to work.
Familiarity with Google Suite Apps such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Good presentational skills
Can work effectively within a team structure.
Able to both take instructions and work on own initiative.
