We are recruiting for a leading Facilities Management Contractor looking to add a Commercial Manager to their team!

Job Title - Commercial Manager

Area/Location - Bedfordshire

Type of Job - Permanent

Start Date - As Soon As Possible

Salary -£70,000 - £75,000 + 20% bonus (performance related)

Working Hours- 7.30am - 4pm

Purpose of the Role and A Few Key Responsibilities

  • Managing areas 6 & 8 (very early stages) - 14 years left.
  • Managing the commercial team (hands on) - junior team that needs a little hand holding for 12months maybe longer.
  • Type of schemes - cyclical work, emergency works, capital works, large scale surfacing, pot hole, broad spectrum. High volume, non-complicated. Cost reimbursable works
  • Value of schemes - £30-40million (100k to 3million) - team managing 15-20 schemes.
  • The Commercial Manager Role will develop strategically with 3rd party works.
  • Develop commercial plan with client, focus on forecasting.
  • Relationship with the client is key

Essential Experience and Qualifications of the Role-

  • Previous experience in highways or civils
  • A minimum of 5 years of railway experience
  • Managed a commercial team previously
  • Examples of managing demanding client
  • Client wants some more leadership on how the contract will/should develop as they aren't subject matter experts - maybe help them look better to their HE bosses.
  • Culturally - wants someone who can interact with client. Not too commercial focused, needs to have personality
  • NEC Contract Knowledge
  • Systems - MS Project, SAP, CPA
  • Ideally someone with a TRK/3100
