Key Responsibilities for the planning manager

the plannig manager role will require you to take full ownership and accountability of Falcon cluster delivery plans, from mobilisation through to delivery and involve project management of operational delivery - flex & civils, working closely with FTTP and Civils delivery managers.

You will need to attend and chair all required meetings both client & the company / Supply chains, liaise with the local authorities (ensure appropriate notices and work programme agreements etc.) and manage the co-ordination of work stack/multiple contractors/DLO in line with delivery programme, ensuring delays are minimised by resolving operational issues to enable swift job closure and invoicing.

Throughout your role you will ensure prompt and accurate completion and return of relevant compliance documentation as well as ensuring relevant Health and Safety standards are followed and achieved. You will lead and develop a team to successfully meet and exceed the companies expectations, ensuring staff/operatives are regularly monitored and motivated to deliver the highest possible standards and jeopardy managing of works to ensure that the required by date delivery and volume delivery targets are met.

What do we need from you?

the planning manager will need to be experienced in Utility Works / Highways works with strong previous experience of the communications industry at a similar level including previous experience in FTTP build - Fibre cable installation / splicing / testing and have worked in a similar. It is desirable that you have an in-depth knowledge of Openreach specifications & documentation, however this isn't essential. Ideally you will have been involved in similar workstreams, i.e. Openreach works or other fibre network delivery programmes.

Excellent communication and leadership skills are paramount with the ability to motivate, manage and grow a successful team. This will also include a proven ability to build strong relationships and exceed client expectations.

It is essential as part of the role that you are able to drive and have a valid UK driving licence and you must be competent in using Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel etc. A Project Management qualification is also desirable.
