We are recruiting for a leading Facilities Management Contractor looking to add a Quantity Surveyor to their team!

Job Title - Quantity Surveyor

Area/Location - Bromsgrove

Contract Type: Permanent

Start Date - As Soon As Possible

Salary -£38,000.00 per annum

Job Description

  • Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or (Senior) Commercial Manager the key focus is;
  • Carrying out the commercial role on the project in line with the company processes and procedures to ensure the contractual and commercial position for the company is protected, and financial performance is enhanced
  • Develop and support junior team on projects.

Purpose of the Role-

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor Working independently, responsible for initiating and completing tasks and procedures, including where relevant responsibility for supervising, or guiding others. The ability to gain, and where relevant apply a range of knowledge, skills and understanding.

A Few Key Responsibilities of the Role-

  • Develop a good understanding of the wider aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental law affecting business.
  • Have a full understanding and appreciation of the contract under which your project is operating and the risks and opportunities this presents.
  • Understand and implement the requirements of the company's Health Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures and conduct all duties in a manner consistent with these.
  • Develop a high level of competence in the application of IT skills to facilitate own role within the company
  • Develop a wider knowledge of business systems to manage and present business information
  • Use the CAFM platform to demonstrate our value to our clients.
  • Have a clear understanding of the benefits and outputs available from our IT tools.
  • Share best practice and knowledge of using the IT platforms with the wider Commercial/Project team.
  • Actively seek to expand own knowledge base of the company's working practices and industry as a whole and promote development of others
  • Identify, manage, reduce and drive out unnecessary costs and inefficient activities
  • Be an advocate for Lean management and encourage the operational and commercial teams to look for ways to improve our services and constantly improve.

Essential Experience of the Role-

  • Willing to travel (occasional overnight stays where business demands).
  • NVQ Level 5 or equivalent
  • 5 years industry experience (refurb and maintenance).
  • CSCS Card.
